Bio

Bluster Bhoy is the musical project of Alan Tierney, a songwriter, musician, and producer originally from Clondalkin, Co. Dublin, now based in the Midlands of Ireland. Blending elements of classic rock, punk attitude, alternative rock, and melodic pop sensibilities, Bluster Bhoy creates energetic songs driven by honest storytelling, catchy hooks, and emotional depth.

Influenced by artists such as The Beatles, Thin Lizzy, The Police, Queens of the Stone Age, his music carries the spirit of classic rock while embracing a modern, melodic edge. With an anthemic style in the vein of Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon, and Queens of the Stone Age, Bluster Bhoy’s songs capture the humour, chaos, vulnerability, and heart of modern life and love.

Over the years, Alan — also known as Bluster Bhoy — has been actively writing, recording, and producing original songs, as well as reimagining tracks by some of his musical heroes. Alongside his solo work, he has performed in several original bands including Firstborn, Long Live Me, Chiral Labs, and Voodoo Labs, each project adding new layers to his evolving sound and songwriting style.

A new creative chapter began with recording sessions at Red Lake Studios in Portlaoise, Co. Laois, Ireland, where Bluster Bhoy recorded a batch of energetic and heartfelt songs that showcase both his playful creativity and emotional honesty.

The first release from these sessions, “Lost & Found,” arrived on December 2024, delivering a punchy two-minute rocker that set the tone for a fresh new phase of original music.

This was followed by “Complicated Thing Called Love,” released on April 2025, a melodic and relatable reflection on the complexity of finding love in the modern world.

In November 2025, Bluster Bhoy released “All This Love,” a heartfelt anthem about what truly matters when everything else fades away. Blending soulful storytelling with vivid imagery, the song highlights the emotional honesty and warmth at the core of his songwriting.

His latest single, “Waiting Alone,” released on March 20, 2026, explores the tension between dreamers and realists, capturing the quiet moments of reflection where identity, doubt, and possibility collide.

Remaining independent and unsigned, Bluster Bhoy continues carving his own path in the Irish indie rock scene — writing, recording, and producing music that is honest, melodic, and built for both headphones and big stages.
